Accessibility Statement

Bar D Construction & Land Services wants this website to work for everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or reduced-motion settings.

Our Target

We are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard most commonly referenced for public websites in the United States. We have built this site with that standard in mind. We have not completed a formal third-party accessibility audit, so we describe this as a goal we are working toward rather than a certification.

What We Have Built In

  • Semantic HTML with a single main landmark and a logical heading order on every page
  • Descriptive alternative text on content images
  • Labels tied to every form field, with inline error messages rather than pop-up alerts
  • Keyboard access to the menu, the services dropdown, and the accordions, with the mobile menu removed from the tab order while it is closed
  • Visible focus outlines on links, buttons, and form fields
  • Color choices intended to meet the AA contrast thresholds
  • Support for the reduced-motion setting, which stops the scrolling banner, the auto-advancing gallery, and the scroll animations
  • Layouts that reflow down to small phone widths without horizontal scrolling
  • Video that does not load or play until you choose to play it

Where We Know We Are Not Perfect

This is an ongoing effort, not a finished box to check. Some elements have not been independently verified, and third-party components and future content updates can introduce problems we have not caught. If something on this site is hard to use, we want to hear about it, and we will fix it.
