Workmanship, Licensing & Insurance

We do not cut corners. We take the time to do the job right, pay attention to the details, and deliver quality work that is built to last. This page explains how that commitment is handled in writing.

Workmanship

Bar D stands behind the work our crews perform. If something we built fails because of how we built it, tell us and we will come look at it. The specific workmanship coverage period and its terms are set out in the written agreement for your project, because the right term for a fence line is not the right term for a ground-up building.

Manufacturer Warranties

Materials and components carry the warranty of the manufacturer that produced them. That includes steel panel and trim, roll-up doors, roofing products, and mechanical equipment. Those warranties belong to you as the property owner. We will hand over the documentation for what was installed on your job so you have it.

Licensed and Insured Trades

Bar D operates as the general contractor and executes work through fully licensed and insured subcontractors. Texas does not license general contractors at the state level. The trades that Texas does license are handled by licensed professionals:

  • Electrical: performed by electricians licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
  • Plumbing: performed by plumbers licensed by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners
  • HVAC: performed by contractors licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation

Ask us for current license and insurance certificates for the trades on your job and we will get them to you.

What Is Not Covered

Workmanship coverage does not extend to damage caused by things outside our control, including:

  • Storm, hail, flood, fire, lightning, and other acts of nature
  • Normal wear, settling, fading, and weathering of materials
  • Modifications, additions, or repairs performed by others after we finish
  • Failure to perform routine maintenance, including keeping gutters and drainage clear
  • Owner-supplied materials or a scope the owner directed us to build against our recommendation
  • Soil movement, subsurface conditions, or pre-existing site conditions that were not disclosed or discoverable

Permits

Where a permit is required, it is pulled under the license of the trade performing the work, or by us where applicable. We will tell you plainly during the quote what your project requires.

Liability

Our responsibility for a project is defined by the written agreement for that project. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages such as lost use, lost revenue, or delay costs. Any claim must be raised with us promptly, and in writing, so we have a fair chance to inspect and correct it.

Making a Claim

Call (512) 525-6475. Tell us the address, roughly when the work was done, and what you are seeing. Photos help. We will schedule a time to come look.

This page is a plain-language summary provided for transparency. It is not legal advice and it does not replace the written agreement for your project. Read the liability and warranty clauses in that agreement closely, and have an attorney review it if you want certainty.
